Fall running events in Toronto

Fall running events in Toronto offer runners of all abilities one final chance for a personal best before winter rears its ugly head and forces most of us into hibernation. This is the season to smash records with blissfully cooler temps and some of the biggest races the city has to offer.

Toronto Beer Run Sept. 27
Only in its second year in Toronto, this 11.5K route will see you weave through five of downtown's finest breweries, with you crushing a cold one at each stop. Burn calories, consume calories. Repeat.

Run for Vaughan Sept. 27
Hike up the 400 to Canada's Wonderland for a backdrop like no other for 10, 5K and 1K kids runs. While the rides won't be running, you certainly will.

Toronto Ten Miler Sept. 27
Acting as a perfect primer for the Scotiabank race, the Ten Miler (or 16K for you metric fans) has gorgeous views of the city, taking you through Tommy Thompson Park.

CIBC Run for the Cure Oct. 4
The pinkest run of them all will see runners race through the streets around U of T's campus to raise money for breast cancer research. While many will be walking, you can dust off a 5K swiftly on these flat streets.

Scotiabank Waterfront Marathon Oct. 18
Don't miss out on this one, even just to avoid the FOMO that will infiltrate your Instagram feed. It's the second fastest (flattest) marathon in North America and a Boston qualifier. A half marathon and 5K options.

TO Women's Run Oct. 24
The third event in this running series ends with a 8K or 5K in Sunnybrook Park. Water stations are 'manned' by TO's finest firefighters, so leave the fanny pack at home and come thirsty.

Mad Dog Scramble Oct. 25
This run combines some challenging trail paths as you navigate the creeks around Sunnybrook Park. You will get muddy on this 8K run, so leave the new Nikes at home and show off your trail game.

Monster Dash Oct. 25
Sport your best costume for this family-friendly race around Leaside. The spooky race kicks off at night, with 5K, 10K and a one mile kid's races. Naturally, there are prizes for the best costumes.

Holly Jolly Fun Run Nov. 15
In its third year, this one is guaranteed sell out early. Join the fun of the parade by running ahead of Santa's sleigh. All funds raised go to the Santa Clause parade, viewers of which will cheer you on has you run the route.

Downsview Airport 8K &5K Nov. 15
If you missed out on the Pearson run, take flight over at Downsview with 5K or 8K routes down tarmacs with vintage and commercial aircraft providing the perfect scenery.
